For years I have been trying, making and collecting recipes. I have so many documents, folders and scribble notes that I decided to start my own website. It is mainly collect all the recipes and thoughts that I have about food and may be you would like to share them here as well!
Together with my partner I live in the Netherlands and we share a cute apartment in the city where I was born and raised. My studies were quite internationally oriented and in my early years I traveled a lot. Outside of the Dutch kitchen, which seems to be only a veggies, meat and potatoes, I really enjoy trying foods from all over the world! Besides my partner has Suriname roots which kitchen is a melting pot from so many different cultures. It seems to be the perfect combination!
We do cook together but our approach is completely different! So funny how I try to follow the recipe while he opens the cabinet, go through all that we have and makes a plan while cooking. Normally I make sure the basics are prepared so he can smell, taste and tweak the recipe. From the beginning, we always tell each other the journey on our taste buds. Like this sweet but goes good with the salty crunch, oh wait for the heat :):) Next time we will try…
I decided to make the website bilingual to keep the international touch but also to keep the Dutchiness as well. I am not native, so please don’t be to harsh on my D-English.
